Community Business Resource Centre - ‘One-Stop-Shop’ Project Now Finally
Goes Ahead!
Following
a tremendous response to the fund raising campaign The Trust is
delighted to report that the Craignure Community Business Resource
Centre project is now definitely going ahead!
The
Centre has been designed to greatly improve access to services and
resources to benefit local charities, community groups, businesses and
individuals. Services will include a dedicated training centre, serviced
work spaces, an information library and a brand new charity shop for the
M.E.S.S. project. The Centre will be multi-functional and community
owned, creating a vibrant hub for all users.
After
what’s been a long and often difficult process of research, feasibility
studies, consultations, planning and fundraising we are now thrilled to
be finally getting on with the really exciting work - finalising the
designs and preparing for the building works.
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us reach
this point - particularly our supporters who gave very generously to the
appeal for donations and pledges at the end of last year.
Our main project funding partners are The BIG Lottery,
The European Regional Development Fund and Highlands and Islands
Enterprise. However, without the matched funding from supporters we
would not have been able to access these large sums and make this
fantastic new community facility a reality.
here is still a little way to go yet and further funds
may be needed to complete the finishing touches for the centre but we
are now able to get on with completing the design to allow the builders
to start work early next year.
While the design team works away to complete the fine
detail for the design and building tender we will be contacting
voluntary and community groups, individuals and businesses who may be
interested in using the office space, therapy room and/or training
facilities well in advance of the centre opening.
So,
keep an eye on this space for all the future developments!
If you would like to find our more or know someone
interested in using the facilities please contact:
